Overall Rating: 9 out of 10
Tucked in
the corner of the streets of Legaspi and Palanca, the Curator Coffee &
Cocktail keeps a low profile with no signage outside and an innocent façade
making it an easy place to miss.
But to
those who successfully spots the café, a simple interior with bare walls and
floors and few furniture greets them – creating an atmosphere of simplicity and
relaxing openness. But do not get fooled by its front, interestingly it has a
dual identity. A café from morning until sunset when the strongly dark and mysterious
cocktail bar comes to life.

Their
simplicity in décor on the other hand also reflected to their menu. Forget
cakes and pastries in shelves and multiple boards for the menu, the Curator’s
offerings does not even fill a whole letter size paper. For a quick order, just
choose what I did – the We Love Legaspi Breakfast (P 350) – which includes:
“… a drink, a choice of either Croissant or Brioche, Jam, Butter, and Poached egg.”
Simple
yet appealingly platted hearty meal, I grab a bite of the brioche spread with
some butter and jam and dip it into your poached egg before sipping your choice
of drink (in my case, a cappuccino). The bite and the excellent complement of
the cappuccino’s strong bitter espresso and steamed milk and foam creates a
feast of flavors for every bite.

In the
end, with simplicity and quality in its heart, the Curator Coffee and Cocktail
offers a worth it start for your day.
