A Try of Habitual Coffee in Salcedo Village

Providing a caffeine boost in the heart of Salcedo Village in Makati Business District, Habitual Coffee live up to their name. With good coffee, they can become a habit for their customers every day.

Though in a tight space, Habitual Coffee used their limited area to make their place warm and cozy. This ambiance became more evident by their deem lights and use of natural light.

Their menu includes traditional espresso-based drinks, but they give their customers the liberty to choose their single origin beans. They also had meals, however i ist disappointing to know it is only available after 10 am - in the middle of the working time.

I choose from their menu their Mocha Drink (Php 160) which I upgraded to use Single Origin Beans from Benguet (plus Php 20). I also added the only available snack of theirs in the morning a Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie (Php 90).

When I ordered their Mocha, I expected it to be thick and very sweet - I could not be any more wrong. Instead of overpowering sweet chocolate flavor, it has a light texture with the just the right sweetness. The acidity from the coffee tempered down the sweetness of the chocolate creating a mocha where best of both worlds - chocolate and coffee - can be enjoyed without the heavy feeling.

On the other hand, their cookie is an absolute deceiver. I first expected it to be an ordinary overpriced snack. It proved me wrong when it has a rich gooey chocolaty texture with notes of crispiness from bits of walnuts. It proves itself as a high quality snack that is highly addictive - so much so I bought another one for my afternoon meal. 

In summary, the Habitual Coffee is a nice relaxing start in a morning. Though I wish they make their meals available earlier than 10 am, but that did stop them from satisfying early cravings for caffeine or sweets. Their mocha certainly gave me a mix of flavors that woke me up without the sugary guilt feeling and their cookies satisfied by taste buds up until my lunch. If I just work closer, Habitual Coffee could just be indeed my morning habit.
