I have a sweet tooth and a fan of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, so when I discovered a chocolate cafe in Alabang, I can't wait to try it. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory give you extreme satisfaction with their quality, but for a price.
Rocky Mountain's outside gains attention, especially for kids and kids at heart, for their giant bear in a chef costume seating outside their store. Inside the ambiance is anything but dark as chocolate, but rather light, fresh, and modern. The huge windows of the establishment lets in as much light as possible. White walls and mirrors gives it a sense of openness and cleanliness. Such as the contrast of the atmosphere to the lush darkness of its products.
For their products, you can look into their shelves displaying their works. This ranges from chocolate barks, caramel apples, truffles, marshmallow, chocolate bars, and chocolate frizz. Over the counter, you can order sandwiches and drinks. In end, I ordered their Signature Hot Chocolate (Php 200) and a chocolate covered cheese cake (Php 300).
The Signature Hot Chocolate comes well presented in a nice glass with a chocolate stirrer. I expected it to be very sweet and powerful as other chocolate drinks like Tsokolate Ah. Theirs, however, is different, sweetened just right, very profound chocolate taste, buttery in texture, and very rich in the mouth. It delivers a comforting feeling in every sip.

Meanwhile, the chocolate covered, or rather chocolate drizzled cheese cake scares me for fear of being extremely sweet as well, but my first bite surprised me. No overpowering sweetness present, like the Hot Chocolate, right sweetened and a good balance of chocolate and cheese cake's sourly cream cheese taste. Being playful, it can be eaten with a fork or just pick up the stick and take a bite, but be careful of mess.

In summary, Rock Mountain Chocolate Factory is a sweet tooth's paradise. Indulge childish desire in a relaxing atmosphere. One visit is not enough and there are a lot of items that is a must-try. However, prepare a huge wallet as quality products do not come in cheap. In a cheesecake and a hot chocolate drink, I already spent half a thousand pesos - way more than I spent in a cafe. Nonetheless, it motivates me save for my next trip to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
