A Gem in the South - Exchange Alley Coffee House

Exchange Alley was a famous alleyway in London that buzzed with life and commerce. It coffee shops served as gathering place and activity stimulated by cups of coffee. This spirit of liveliness transpires to the Exchange Alley Coffee House in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

Outside Exchange Alley Coffee House or EACH seems typical like other restaurants, but inside it has cool, vibrant, and fresh feel into it. Bare concrete floors  and simple white wall yet had a vibrant feel thanks to its colorful espresso machine and other equipment as well as use of desk lamp-like fixtures. These along with simple chairs and tables gives a hip and modern ambiance. Some parts had high ceiling that gives a open feeling. The place is cool and relaxing perfect for a chat with friends, for studying, or for a simple me time.

For their menu, they had traditional espresso based drinks, meals, and even ice cream (from simple ice cream in cone to an affogato). They also take pride on their various single origin coffee that depends on the availability.

I tried their cappuccino (Php 130) and match it with their Avo Toast (Php 200) that can be paired with salmon, pouched egg, or a prosciutto (I choose salmon).

Their cappuccino has a nice thin layer of milk foam and a coffee that despite the milk retains bitterness of the espresso. Its bitterness has a the right amount that kicks but not very hard.

And then came their Avo Toast. HEAVEN!!! Just squeeze the lime and take a bite of an exquisite toast that burst with flavor and texture. 1 bite is a feast in the mouth. the crispy toast blended with cool feeling in the mouth of the salmon with the sourness from the lime all perfectly match the soft avocado spread. A worth it toast for Php 200.

Exchange Alley Coffee House is a coffee house gem in the south. From coffee, to food, and to the place, they have a great combination.There can be no mistake if I choose this place to relax and relieve my self from stress.
