A unique looking restaurant that looks like a garden restaurant found in US or Europe stands in Legazpi Village. And I am talking about Mom & Tina's Bakery Cafe.

Ever since the time I started to work in the Makati Business District in 2015, I have already noticed Mom & Tina's for its home-like looks - with garden table and chairs, blue shades, wooden door, and huge windows that shows an interior that resembles a dining and living room. Just from the outside, it already felt a home - warm, cozy, carefree, relaxing. Lights illuminated the interior and they had comfortable table sets and even sofas with tables that customers could dine in. It appears to be like a Mary Grace Cafe but a brighter version. Upon entry, customers can feast their eyes on the numerous bread and yummy and colorful pastries Mom & Tina's sell.

A casual dinning cafe, Mom & Tina's had an extensive menu. Since I enjoyed sweets and coffee, I focused on their products in those categories. I am glad that they offer decaffeinated drinks, good for people who wants to take their morning easy.  I ordered an Irish Cappuccino (Php 130), a French Apple Tart (Php 205), and a Carrot Cupcake (Php 80).

Their Irish Cappuccino was simple. Suits well for those who like their coffee bitter. As to why it was called Irish, I cannot say nor taste in my cup. As a disclaimer, I did not expect their coffee to be excellent, but I do expect their cupcakes and pastries to be of high caliber.

French Apple Tart, Irish Cappuccino, and Carrot Cupcake

It did not disappoint me to order their French Apple Tart. Its overflowing with filling and crumbs and its is messy but fun to it. Enjoy cracking the crumbs and taking some of apple slices inside. It has the right sweetness and does not make me lose my appetite.

On the other hand, their cupcakes - a carrot cupcake - has a clean and appetizing look. In a bite, the cream is not sweet and provides a soft airy feeling in every bite. The carrot cupcake was not boring, but to contrary has a different texture that make it enjoyable. It has raisins that gives it a luscious texture alongside the crunchy bite of walnuts.

Summing up, Mom & Tina's is place to come back to. They have a lot of things to offer and taste it in a very calm and relaxing place - a refuge in a middle of hustle and bustle. A home with great food in the middle of a city.
