Sitting in a cabana while the sea breeze whistles in the air and the sun shinning brightly has a relaxing feeling which the Bungalow Cafe and Bakery imitates in their place. With a light and calm vibes, customers can enjoy their menu alongside their variety of pastries they offer.
Bungalow Cafe and Bakery indeed brings the tropical atmosphere in the place. Large windows provide natural lighting and high ceilings give openness. The light color walls, rattan chairs, and fruits as decor further this feeling to the customers.
They have an extensive menu ranging from soups to desert and various beverages. On top they also have a section in the cafe where they display various pastries, from cookies to cakes and pies. I tried a cup of Cappuccino (Php 130), a slice of Banana Cream Pie (Php 230), and their Berries & Ricotta (Php 350).
Bungalow Cafe and Bakery's Banana Cream Pie was bountiful. It had generous amounts of cream with almonds, banana, slices of custard pudding, all on top of a salty crust. A bite of the pie brings a musical of different flavors in the mounts with the cloudy feeling of the cream and the cool taste of banana and sudden control in the sweetness by the salty crust. Crispy texture of the almond and the soft bite of the custard pudding contributed more to the excellence of the pie.
Meanwhile, their cappuccino was in average caliber. It lean towards the bitter side with a heavy texture with the burnt milk foam on top contributing on it.
On the other hand, the Berries & Grapes Ricotta offered an equally excellent experience as the Banana Cream Pie. A serving of the toast surprised me for its bountifulness - a cornucopia in a plate without the horn. It looked appetizing because of its beautiful plating and arrangement. It overflowed literally with cream, strawberries, grapes, mint, and bits of ricotta and granola. It has a beautiful mix of creaminess, crispiness and sourness that made the whole toast a hearty meal - a meal that fits for 2 people. The only thing that breaks this sunshine and rainbow dish laid in its rough crust, nonetheless it remained an outstanding meal.
Summing up my experience in Bungalow Cafe & Bakery. the place is cool and nice to stay, perhaps this being a reason for it to be popular with dinners. Due to this, it might not be a place for peace and quiet but a place for gathering, meetings, and hang outs. Also, despite its expensive price tag, Bungalow Cafe & Bakery compensates with high quality food and experience. All in all, the place is perfect for those who wants quality time with friends and family over good and exciting feast.
