Cafeteria Vibes: Local Edition (Legazpi Village)

Overall Experience: 7 out of 10

My initial encounter of Local Edition was with their branch in Serendra, BGC, however, this had closed for quite sometime. Their handcrafted coffees sparked my interest so when I discovered there is a Local Edition in Legazpi Village, I went to try it out.

Local Edition Counter

Located in Perea Street, Local Edition has a simple interior. No elegant furniture or elaborate decor, just a humble space.  I felt more so when I saw their display case that can be seen in cafeterias. This made the place less intimidating and easier to be comfortable. A side of the shop has frames similar to those for windows which serves as a decor, however, in my personal opinion, it could use some change to look more appealing and clean. They also have a corner in the cafe where they sell their coffee beans and encourage to read some of the books they have.

Local Edition has a lot to offer from their menu. They have pastas and sandwiches as well as breakfast specials. of course they have a wide variety of beverages, especially coffee. They stand out unique from other cafes from their handcrafted coffee as I have stated above. These included Cocomo, Coconut Cold Brew, Azucarado and Nutspresso.

Bagel with Cream Cheese and Jam & Azucardo
I ordered their Azucarado (Php 145) drinks as well as their breakfast special - bagel with cream cheese and jam (Php 120). Their bagel was nice, chewy, and very hearty. A nice combination with the Azucarado.

Azucardo
The Azucarado, meanwhile, tasted a latte mixed with brown sugar. Despite having brown sugar, it has a well-balanced mixed, not too sweet nor bitter.

Overall, Local Edition is a nice place. Though not as great as I expected, but still nice. I hope to check out more of their handcrafted coffee.
