The provinces has seen its share of rise in the food
industry, especially in cafes and milk tea with each place has its own unique
experience to provide. And Coffee Gus•to is one of this places.
Initially, I thought the place as just another milk tea
joint, but their social media account turned out to be beneficial in delivering
the distinction that set this place apart from the others. They do have milk teas,
but they also have coffee, meals, and most of all, unique cakes that does not
narrow only to another blueberry cheesecake. And because of this, I determined
to give this place a try.
I found it in a subdivision behind a school which seems hidden from the hustle and bustle. The cafe, moreover, built in what used to be the garage of a house, so it was a family business.
Despite the small area, its interior design made it look spacious, cozy, and stylish. Having an industrial design, wood, concrete and black colors once again created a cool elegant feel. The furniture and unique lamps added more to this aura.
Like I said before, they served hot coffee beverages with altered names like Mokka (I assumed a Mocha) and Caramelait (I thought as caramel latte). They also have pastas, burgers, sandwiches, and most importantly cakes. They have sans rival, Toblerone cheesecake, ferro (Ferrero) cake, and more. The best part, their prices are affordable compare to other big time cafe or third wave coffee shops.

Caramelait
I tried their Caramelait (Php 100) and a slice of
sans rival (Php 130) and Toblerone cheesecake (Php 130).
For the Caramelait, it has an excellent milk foam on
the top with an espresso with a strong coffee bitter taste. It, however, shared
the same fate as other lattes - the syrup settled in the bottom instead of
being incorporated to the drink. Nevertheless, it still a nice energizing shot
of caffeine good for the afternoon.

Sans Rival and Caramelait
For the sans rival, it has a nice buttercream that has mild sweetness. Its meringue layer has a nice strong nutty taste but quite rough. It also has salty notes that helped in controlling the sweetness of the cake. In the end it was a perfect balance of sweet and salty.

Toblerone Cheesecake
Then lastly, the Toblerone cheesecake. It was unique and very thrilling cakes that is difficult to find in the provinces unlike in Tagaytay or Metro Manila. So the cheese cake only had mild sweet and had dark earthy and nutty chocolatey taste. The Toblerone taste present in a dense and creamy feeling in the tongue. A cake for Toblerone and chocolate fans.
Summing up, Coffee Gusto is one of a kind place perfect
for indulging cravings for sweets and coffee, even milk tea. It has a nice
place with beautiful interior as well as plenty of good food and drinks to try.
It will indeed be one of my places to relax after a long tiring work week.
